Birds and Glass: An Unfriendly Encounter – Thursday, October 27, 2016 – 6 PM
If you’ve heard a thud on your windows and looked out to find a dazed or dead bird, you already know that birds have difficulty with glass. Approximately 1 billion birds die each year in the U.S. from collisions with glass. Why is that? The simple answer is that birds cannot see glass. So what can be done? Join us to learn more about the science, the research, and the simple and affordable products available to prevent bird strikes from happening. Samples of these readily available products will be on display. Dr. Klem, the Sarkis Acopian Professor of Ornithology and Conservation Biology at Muhlenberg College and a world expert on the topic, will discuss what he’s learned in his 40+ years of research.
Attendees will receive a $10.00 off coupon to the Wild Bird Center of Lehigh Valley, Fogelsville, PA.
