Biodiversity

Short for biological diversity, biodiversity refers to the wide variation among living organisms on Earth. To say that an ecosystem is biologically diverse is to say that there is a great assortment of species, or a group of living organisms that can interbreed, present in that habitat. From a small pond to the entire biosphere, biodiversity can be examined on many levels.
