Welcome to the Lehigh Valley Sustainability Network!

The Lehigh Valley Sustainability Network (LVSN) brings together non-profit, governmental, private sector and community organizations and individuals in the Lehigh Valley region that are engaged in any aspect of sustainability.  The LVSN serves as a platform for more effective means of collaboration and communication among the members of the vibrant Lehigh Valley sustainability community.

Air Products Foundation Provides Financial Support for LVSN

LVSN is proud to report that The Air Products Foundation has provided program support for the creation of a sustainability web resource for 2014.  This generous gift will allow us to begin the redesign and expansion of the current LVSN website into a portal to all things sustainable in the Lehigh Valley.   Ms. Laurie  G. Hackett, Manager, Community Relations and Philanthropy, on behalf of the Foundation thanked LVSN for our impact on the community and cited “the sincerity and energy that you put into the community to make a significant difference.”  LVSN sincerely appreciates this vote of confidence from The Air Products Foundation and is putting the funds to good use already. Thank you, Air Products!

One Lehigh Valley Plan Released

The work of EnvisionLV, a three-year project funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant, has culminated in the release of the One Lehigh Valley plan. Produced by the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission, One Lehigh Valley takes the critical elements of the efforts of the thirteen members of the Lehigh Valley Sustainability Consortium and coalesces them into 31 goals to serve as an update to the Comprehensive Plan The Lehigh Valley – 2030.

EnvisionLV focused primarily on economy, environment, transportation and livable communities.  These pieces created the Consortium helped to launch an update to the entire Comprehensive Plan which, when complete, will layer in policies and implementation strategies associated with the new goals.

Web Resource Survey Affirms Need for Sustainability Portal

The results are in from our Web Resource Survey and the survey says 60% of respondents disagree with this statement:  ”At this time, local events focused on sustainability topics are effectively advertised to the general public.”  You can find the full results from the survey here.  We believe it makes a compelling case for the creation of a sustainability platform that reaches out to the general public as well as informs the sustainability community. Thank you to everyone who participated in the survey.  Your input is very valuable!

We invite you to learn more about us, check out our plans for the robust web resource and view the latest news about LVSN. Our current website will be a continually evolving and expanding resource.  Visit us often!
